To celebrate Public Enemy's "Highest Charting UK Single", Harder Than You Think. 30 years after they were first formed!
""Harder Than You Think", is the first single from Public Enemy's 20th anniversary album How You Sell Soul to a Soulless People Who Sold Their Soul? released in 2007.
It was produced by Gary G-Wiz. The song was widely recognized in Summer 2012 and became Public Enemy's highest-charting single on the UK Singles Chart in August 2012.
The track samples extensively from Shirley Bassey's 1972 track Jezahel[1][2] as well as their own 1987 track Public Enemy No. 1.[2]" - Wikipedia

Lyrics:
"WHAT, GOES, ON!
Rolling Stones of the rap game, not braggin'
Lips bigger than Jagger, not saggin'
Spell it backwards, I'mma leave it at that..
That ain't got nuttin to do with rap
Check the facts, expose those cats
Who pose as heroes and take advantage of blacks
Your government's gangster, so cut the crap
A war goin on so where y'all at?
"Fight the Power" comes great responsibility
'F the Police' but who's stopping YOU from killlin me?
Disaster, fiascos over a loop by P.E
If it's an I instead of we believin TV
Spittin riches, bitches, and this new thing about snitches
Watch them asses move as the masses switches
System dissed them but barely missed her
My soul intention to save my brothers and sisters!" - rapgenius.com/Public-enemy-harder-than-you-think-lyrics

Eighth Halo - Identity and Branding
Branding design for experimental music collective called Eighth Halo.
I wanted to create something that was eccentric, futuristic and friendly.
Too many electronic musicians branding especially in genres like Drum n Bass are so serious which prevents new fans from feeling like they are invited to enjoy the creations of these artists when reality is that the more people who expand their musical tastes to new areas the better. The more time they spend listening to new music the less time they spend watching X-Factor!

Yarah Bravo - Catch up
Some illustrations I did a while back to help promote Yarah Bravo's performance at London's Jazz Cafe...
Invaders Must Die
An old illustration inspired by 50's Sci Fi. Bit of a cliché this image, the day I finished it I found another design with exactly the same idea and the planet in the eye and everything! Just a vechile to practice a couple of techniques though so not really a problem.
808 Drum Machine
I enjoy doing these illustrations.
Taking classic quotes of musicians from days gone by and combining them with some illustrations of the modern day technology used by musicians of more recent times.
I wonder what Beethoven or Mozart could make with modern day processes or would they stick to the traditional classical instruments...
Memento Mori
A few illustrations destined for a book called Memento Mori by Jared Baker.
Here is a little sample of some of the protaganist's rambling rhyming rhetoric!
"Normally it's brief conversations with spiritual manifestations all claiming to have the answer but this time it was a man with holes in his hands and feet one who was all blue and whose aroma was sweet and another who was half man and half beast dressed in robes that denoted a high priest and their speech really blow my mind to be told and to find out that my soul's immortal and my personality remains whole as I pass through the portal I'm not wiped clean like most so their experience isn't biased."

The Dark Knight Rises - Contemplation
Trying to figure out if I like this enough to submit to DBH - Dark Knight Rises T-Shirt competition. It's always hard to put your stuff up for 'public' vote, as the feedback, good or bad or non-existent can be very hard to deal with.
Take a knock to your confidence and you can struggle to be confident in the most basic piece of work.... Which can be hard. Well at least for me it is!
Any way if you like it please let me know or come and shout some advice at me on flickr...I'm always there or there abouts. http://www.flickr.com/photos/pfg84/

Shake Your Music Maker
I wonder what some of the great musicians of other generations would make of and create with some of the technology used these days.... Beethoven with an 808 drum machine or Duke Ellington with an A100 Analog Modular System?
